Hi,
I created a WAD Web Application with 4 charts in 2004s. When I do a file print or print preview in Internet Explorer it only shows the image placeholders with a little 'x' in the upper left hand corner of each image. I have IE settings correct for printing images and background.
Any ideas why the charts won't print out through standard IE?
Thanks,
Ken Murray

Hi,
First why this is happened:
The chart image is a dynamically rendered image which is not directly included in the web application. Charts are generated on the IGS server. if you see right click on it -> properties, you will see longer URL. Browser requests again the page if you go on "print" and on this point the chart cannot be rendered correctly by the browser.
For such reasons the print functionality was implemented. In addition printing to PDF can handle such issues like pages extending the A4 page (the elements will be broken in more pages).
If you want to print directly form HTML use Broadcasting for pre-calculation and sending of web applications. Precalculated Web Applications include generated images that should be printable directly.

Hello,
I have a good information for you. After some internal discussions there will be a Patch for all Java SPs with correction for this issue. The patch will be produced and available in few working days. There is also SAP Note with the problem description (already released) with the number 1019160.

Hi,
Why aren't you using the PDF printing function which is offered with BI 2004s?

Hi, We probably will. But, you know that users are comfortable with just using the 'File=>Print' option on their browser. And when they do and see the image placeholders they are going to say it is a bug or issue that needs to be resolve.
Anyone know why this is happening in 2004s? Does it happen to you?
