    Hi,

If your creating the production order through manually means you will come to know when your doing the availability check, if the shortage appears as missing parts available you need to purchase those raw materials. If you run through MRP, system automatically calculate the net requirements and give the proposal for all the components.

If your creating manually then you need to do all the procedure manually.

    Thanks and Regards,

    Satish

    Hi,

Make relevant settings in your order type for order creation.

    1. Order release nor allowed for missing parts (or)

    2. Order can be released despite missing parts.

If after your order creation & release with material shortage, you need to arrange for sufficient stock (or) you can still make order confirmation and post goods movement for missing parts with COGI transaction later.

    Hope this will help you

    Regards

To avoid the material shortage just when you create the production order you need to plan in advance. To plan in advance there are various options available in SAP based on what is your scenario and what kind of material you want to plan.

For example You can use a sales forecast and demand management and MRP.

    Hope this helps

    Cheers
