Performance Tuning

Hi ,

What are the measures in taken in BW to improve performance ? Can you give some areas where we need performance tuning ? Can you give the transactions used in Performance Tuning ?

Hi Kumar,
For cube:
1. Maintain indexes - delet index before load and create index after load
2. Create aggregates - to improve query performance
3. Compress the cube if the data volume is high
4. Create line-item dimension wherever feasible

  you can use RSRT and RSRV
  RSRV is basically used for index, database statistics. This has combined tests as well as elementary tests for master data, transaction data, PSA tables, etc. Ex if you are facing any load performance issues with a cube , you can check the database indices for the cube as well as for aggregates if any.
  RSRT is mainly used for queries. You can use the debug option to trace the queries to see why the query is taking a long time to execute and so on.

RSRT - Query Monitor
RSRV
SAP_INFOCUBE_DESIGNS - abap program

SM50 - process run time

What are some performance tuning methodologies to improve performance in Info Cube ? . Can you give Cube realted perforamnce tuning transction and methods like indexing etc ...
