HR Instances separated from R/3

Hello Everyone,

In our project we have currently the R/3 4.7 running with the standard modules (FI, CO, MM, SD ....) and now on a second wave we are willing to implement HR standalone separated from R/3.

The group have some experience with this scenario? some recommendation or technical/functional issue?, my main concern is about the integration between the system's like data replication or something like that.

Thanks in advance,

Fabiano.

Your scenario is VERY common. The HR instance/system is kept separate due in large part because of the sensitive nature of the data there (at times, this is for legal reasons too). It works quite well with two boxes passing info via ALE. As I said, this is a common situation so lots of expertise/experience out there with it.

Hello Christopher,

Thanks for the answer, this is a good point, but my company are searching more reasons to have a instance dedicated to HR. Do you see any another reason to have this scenario?

We have HR in one instance & R/3 in another instance.

since FI is in R/3, you need to set up an ALE connections to post the payroll decouments to FI on R/3 box. Issues you may face will be relating to posting documents only. But one's proper ALE is set up, then raraly you have any issues.
