I am exploring the method of splitting a production order by using the method 'split to warehouse'.
To give a simple background, my PP order has 4 operations and I have already processed the order for 5 qty. Having done this, I split the order from the first operation for 10 qty, using the selection method as 'SPLT_OS Split to warehouse'. I gave the by product material # same as the order header material.
The split took place and after saving, when I displayed it again, the material doc # generated due to split could be seen in the order hierarchy. I checked that the goods movement took place with movement type 531.In stk. overview, I can see that the new batch of material created as by-product is showing under unrestricted stk.
My confusion is that this split qty. (10 qty.) is not actually produced but it is showing as normal unrestricted stock. Can someone please explain the logic of this approach or have I done something wrong here?
