Hi - I'm supporting a customer with usage of the S4/HANA 1610 FA appliance within the SAP Cloud Appliance Library. The instance has been created using trial option with a view that the instance will be moved to the customer AWS VPC later down the line.

Firstly can you advise whether SAP Notes can be applied to the instance whilst in the trial (30 days) period?

If yes, I have tried to access SNOTE and download the relevant notes although I run into SAP Marketplace connectivity issues. I have checked SM59 and the SAPOSS connection is present although fails the connection test.

If no, can you advise how the corrections can be applied to assist the customer experience of the trial CAL instance?

Please advise.

Thanks.

Regards, David

Hello,

if the connection is failing it means it's not configured. In general, the configuration consist of two steps:

a) Deploy saprouter

b) Configure the connectivity in t-code OSS1

You can check following blog to get more details:

Thanks for the response Bartosz, unfortunately tcode OSS1 is locked.

My question is specific to the SAP CAL Instance within the trial period and whether you are able to apply SAP Notes?

Thanks, David

Hi,

t-code OSS1 is locked due to an error. Please have a look to following note:

Basically you can easily unlock it in SM01.

Best regards

Hi David,

The scope of the trial is to test the trial software as it is. The prerequisites to modify the trial software are to bring your own product licenses and to order the SAP CAL subscription package. For more information, see the blog.

Hi Stanimir - fully understand although the software as it is, is not working hence the need to apply a couple of SAP Notes. The customer is currently in the trial period although post trial period will be purchasing the required product licences.

The CAL instance is being used as part of a customer PoC and the issue I have is with the UI rendering within the Theme Designer, which essentially makes the tool unusable. I have located the requires notes to resolve the issue but unable to apply.

Thanks, David

Hi David,

You can always download the notes and upload them manually in the system. While this can be a hassle and its not efficient, it is the only way to get the notes inside the system without a saprouter.

Marian
