Exception received: com.jcraft.jsch.JSchException: connection is closed by foreign host

Hi Experts,

Since 2 days in our PI server (7.4 dual stack), all the SFTP channels are failing with either or both of the below errors:

Exception received: com.jcraft.jsch.JSchException: connection is closed by foreign host

Exception received: com.jcraft.jsch.JSchException: Session.connect: java.net.SocketException: Connection reset

Can someone please guide on what to do? I I have checked for Connection reset one note(821267), and it says to check Firewall and settings of PI channel.Here no changes were made to the channels and have requested the basis team to check the firewall settings.

But could not find much about the solution to 'connection is closed by foreign host'
issue.

Hi Dilip,

Looking into the error it looks like your SFTP server is not allowing any connection request from your PI server. You should check below points -

1) You can ping sftp server from PI OS level or not. Basis team can help you on that.

2) Some Firewall rule is changed in recent times.

3) READ, WRITE, MODIFICATION some access has changed for the user id you are using in CC.

4) Check the role of the user as well.

If you are using private key authentication and PGP encryption and decryption then that part should be fine as for certificate issue different error should come.
