How to Extract the Hierarchy Set from R/3 into BW

Former Member

Hi all,

A Hierarchy Set Z_XX has been created for 0STKEYFIG InfoObject with the

following details in R/3 for :

Table: CCSS

Field: STAGR (Statistical Key Figure).

I have tried to Refresh the Hierarchies with ' Available Hierarchies from OLTP' button on 'Hierarchy Selection' tab from Hierarchy InfoPackage, but I didn't find this new Hierarchy set.

How to bring this Set in to BW? Does it require any other process in R/3 side, PLEASE ?

Thanks.

were you able to see the same in RSA3?

Hi Voodi,

The Hierarchy Data Source name is: 0STKEYFIG_0104_HIER and when I checked this DataSource in RSA3 it has 0 records.

Thanks.

so you can see the Z_XX hierarchy in the RSA3 thru ur DS but returns no data. Am i correct?

Hi Voodi,

I didn't find this Z_XX Set in Hierarchy Selection for DataSource 0STKEYFIG_0104_HIER in RSA3. I could see other Hierarchies.

Thanks.

Thats what i was exactly looking for. So now can you check in gs03, open hierarchy maintenance and see if it is a subset of another hierarchy. Orelse you can ask ur functional guys if this hierarchy is a child set of another parent hierarchy. If you can know the name of the hierarchy sitting above, in the infopack selection, select that (parent hierarchy) and extract it. That should bring in ur zhierarchy too along with it.

Hi Voodi,

It is a new one and NOT a subset of any Hierarchy.

Thanks.

Did you check in the Where used list in the hierarchy maintenance?

Hi Voodi,

When I clicked 'Where Used' button then 'Display Set : Subordinate Sets' displayed with the following info.

No. Set Id

001 Z_36_STAT_CDVHSMSOLD TOTAL HSM SOLD-COMBINED

002 Z_36_STAT_CDVKGSCONS Kilograms of Rollstock Consumed

003 Z_36_STAT_CDVLBSCONS Pounds of Rollstock Consumed

004 Z_36_STAT_CDVMSFSOLD MSF SOLD - Combined

Thanks.

yeah it should be one of them. Orelse to make it easy, go to se11, check table SETNODE and for selection Subset ID = give the name of ur hierarchy and see what is the SET ID. that would be the superior set, but make sure u try the same stuff with the superior set name in the table subset to make sure it doesnt have a superior set, a superior set can have another set sitting on top of it. One you figure out, try to see the hierarchy in RSA3 and if you see it there, you can see it in BI too, just extract the set, that should bring in the hierarchy that is the subset too.

Hi Voodi,

From SE16, entered 'SETNODE' table and typed the Set name 'Z_36_STAT_CAPTURE' for SUBSETNAME' and it says '0 table entries found for specified key'. But, when I enter 'Z_36_STAT_CAPTURE' for SETNAME then it will list 4 subsets. It means 'Z_36_STAT_CAPTURE' is not subset of another Hierarchy? Isn't it?

How to proceed next, please ?

Thanks.
