XI and eFiling

From ECC6 I understand that eFiling requires XI instead of SAP Business Connector. We currently have a SAP Business Connector which is connected to multiple R3 Production systems. Does anyone know if eFiling on XI can be configured to connect to multiple R3 Production systems? I've looked at the e-Filing Configuration guide but it's not totally clear to me.

Any help appreciated.
