IC Partitioning

Hi experts,

I have two questions about InfoCube partitioning:

1. Can I perform the partitioning avoiding emptying the InfoCube?

2. If I have (let's say) 100.000.000 records in the E+Ftable, which is the best ratio to identify and decide the range of 0calmonth partitioning ( FROM... TO) and also the most suitable number of partitions?

    Hi,

You cannot partition the cube with data.

Once the F table is compressed ,data goes from F table to E table then u can no longer see data in F table.

When u partition ,u do it for the infocube based on two characteristics OCALMONTH or OFISCPER.The fact table is created on the database with one of the number of partitions corresponding to the value range. You can set the value range yourself.

check out this sap help for partitoning....
