Upgraded to SP18 -program to run to generate alerts

Hi

We recently upgraded our XI 3.0 dev environment from SP13 to SP18 - and our alert rules and categories that had been defined in SP13 are intact after the upgrade

I know that beyond SP13 - Alert framework is not dependent on End-to-End monitoring infrastructure ( PMI ) -

But is it necessary to schedule the program SXMSALERT_PROCESS_DATA_GET in background for the alerts to be generated ? What program is required to run in background for alerts to be generated based on existing alert rules - for alerts to be generated in SP18 ?

Correct answers will be rewarded rightaway. Thanks for your time in advance.

Hi Vijaya

Appreciate the prompt reply . Do you mean to say - that apart from configuring alert rules and alert categories - we do not need to run any other SAP std program in background for alerts to be generated ?

Hi,

Yes, that all you need to do.

Hi,

SAP note: 870232

3. It is no longer necessary to schedule the report SXMSALERT_PROCESS_DATA_GET as a background job.

4. If you want to display active alerts in the CCMS (see Note 824039), schedule the report SXMSALERT_ACTIVE_ALERTS with your preferred period.

Thanks Vijaya - for the pointer to the OSS note - I have awarded full points -

Just one more question - In SP13 - we had a specific requirement to make a call to a central monitoring webservice - whenever any alert is created. We met this requirement by copying SXMSALERT_PROCESS_DATA_GET to a Z* and then modified the ABAP code to make a WS call ( by pointing to a WSDL from XI box - we created client proxy classes etc )

I am wondering what is the equivalent program in SP18 to meet this specific requirement - Any thoughts
