Our company is in the process of implementing SAP PM module (along with several other modules). I've worked with SAP for several years at other companies as a maintenance planner. In the previous builds, revision code dates and times were always fixed once created in OIOB. I've been working in our pre-production QA environment and have found that the basic start date/time and the basic end date/time are set based on the work and capacities assigned to the work order.
For instance, I can create a revision code that has a Monday 7:30a.m. Basic start with a Friday 4:00 p.m. Basic finish which is the standard 40 hour work week plus a 30 minute daily lunch period. I then assign the revision code to a newly created work order with no labor hours and refresh the dates. The result is SAP changes the basic start & the basic finish to 8:00 a.m. on Monday.
The previous build that I worked in, the dates and times for revision codes were fixed once created in OIOB. Using the above scenario, once I assigned the revision code, the dates and times never changed no matter if I had no capacities on the work order or I had assigned hours greater than the capacities that are assigned to the work center.
What has to be done to make revision codes fixed for this new build of SAP?
