JDBC system properties for Connector API

I plan to query data from a table in PCD using sql.

Initially i want to start with select * from tab;

I have to use CF API.

I have a few questions.

Do I have to first make a JDBC system in System Administration give it an alias and then use the alias in the cf api code?

To creat the system I need some data which I can get in db_connection.properties.

But I just cant find the file.

Please let me know where it is stored.

Thanks

    Hi,

    All the PCD objects are stored in the default database same as for the WAS on which the portal sits (this you might already know). And by default, there exists a DB connection which is used by WAS and other services and you can probably use the same details. Login to Visual Administrator -> Server -> Services -> JDBC Connector, you'll get all the db connection properties you require.

    DISCLAIMER: Please dont hold me responsbile for anything that might happen later tampering with the sysdb. 😊

    Thanks,

    Rajit
