Profit & Loss Subtotals not in hierarchy

hi All,

we're implementing cube 0FIGL_VC1 to create Balance Sheet and P&L reports. We use info object 0GLACCEXT with its standard hierarchy (extractor).

The Financial Statement Version on R/3 makes use of the Graduated Totals in order to make subtotals e.g. Added Value, EBIT and Net Profit.

These Subtotals do not show in our BW query when using 0GLACCEXT + hierarchy. This is the method also used in business content query: 0FIGL_VC1_Q0001. The same goes for cube 0FIGL_C01 in combination with 0GL_ACCOUNT.

Does this mean that BW's Business Content hierarchy cannot display the regular Profit and Loss Statement? Does another solution exist?

you should get subtotals through standard hierarchy for figures like Total Assets, Total Liabilities for balance sheet and likewise for Total Income & Total Expenditure on Income statement but beyond that you would not get subtotals for other figures that you have mentioned. The alternate solution is to use a top sheet in the same workbook which has a layout that represents the published statements and then use excel formulas and lookups to fill the appropriate rows from the query sheet.

it's hard to believe SAP does not provide a standard solution for profit and loss statements.

We will not be using workbooks, only web reports. I'm thinking of a solution with a structure and selections of (P&L) hierarchy nodes and formulas of these selections. But this requires query maintenance whenever the P&L structure is changed.

      Does anyone have other suggestions?

    Hi Erik

We have just created a P&L solution based on PCA data. We created the P&L in a structure, and yes, it do require some maintenance, but there is no way around it.
