Hi folks,

Sorry for weighing in so late, but I saw my name used in the thread above and a reference to an excerpt from our book published in 2010, and I thought I would add some clarification here. Vamsikrishna is correct, in that the book does reference, in talking about the cycle count indicator "Fix" field on the product master, that the cycle count indicator can be updated during slotting. But in fact, the cycle count indicator is not updated during slotting. Our apologies for the error in the description of the "Fix" indicator. Elsewhere in the book (section 9.6), we refer to the slotting transaction and what is updated there, which does not include the cycle count indicator.

The cycle count indicator is (or was) updated either manually, via a BADI, or via the transaction /SCWM/CCIND_MAINTAIN (as correctly indicated by Juergen above). The "Fix" indicator refers to this transaction - the program does not change the cycle count indicator if the cycle count "Fix" indicator is checked.

As of S/4HANA 1809, the transaction /SCWM/ABC can now be used to update indicators for cycle counting (often called "ABC indicators"). This transaction can be downported to EWM 9.5 via OSS note 2809838. It appears (although I'm not 100% certain without testing it) that the cycle count indicator "Fix" field is also considered by this program.

Hi,

I would think that the F1 documentation behind the "fixed" field you refer to is wrong. Maybe it was once meant to set this during slotting (as EWM can read the demand data from APO during the slotting run, why not do this at the same time?).

There is a transaction /SCWM/CCIND_MAINTAIN, which is to "Transfer Cycle Counting Indicator from APO". Although my ABAP is bad, I found the following comment line in the code of the report behind it "Fix indicator is set we do not overwrite". So I guess only this report used the information and only this report is able to set the CC indicator automatically.

Brgds

Actually I just see that you do not quote the actual F1 help, but some text from a book? Which book is this from?

Hi,

I did not find any standard way to update the CC indicator during slotting. But there is one enhancement available to update of tables when changing master record.

here is the BAdi : /SCWM/EX_SLOT_SAV_UPD_TAB

Hi ,

Need to check this , I believe it should be updated through standard why because if it is BADI there is no influence with the fixed check box.

To my knowledge slotting only update the below mentioned 4 parameter in Product master. Same is mentioned in SAP link as well. Could you please share where do you get this information regard updating of cycle count indicator through slotting

  1. Putaway control indicator (and, optionally, stock removal control indicator)
  2. Maximum quantity in storage type
  3. Storage section indicator
  4. Storage bin types

Hi ,

Sorry for the late reply , i was busy with some other work through the slotting not only the above mentioned but also there are other fields which are having planned will also got updated & also through slotting a bin can be assigned as fixed bin when we run slotting , slotting also uses the packaging specification data & also the length , width & height of UOM tab of product master or pack spec ( but not length ,width & height on the package tab because these are inner dimensions of the packaging material which can be used by product to be occupied ).

Regarding the actual question please answer for the below screenshot.

Theoretically during slotting system consider demand data and accordingly classification of material takes place but never came across a scenario to directly influence the control cycle indicator in system using slotting or never explore that area.

As suggested by Juergen, Could you please share the book detail. interesting to know and explore
