.dll involved in dynamic prompt crystal 2011

using a third party app that uses

crystal reports 2008 runtime SP3 version

we created a crystal report in Crystal 2011 that used a dynamic cascading prompt built on a SQL command

when we upgraded the third party system the two reports with this set up stopped working.

if a user selects the report the prompt displaying the results appears (so a box appears letting the user choose from a handful of selections - these values come from the SQL command and are appearing correctly). after making the selection and clicking ok the third party app just crashes (it closes)

to make it more confusing the reports work locally (meaning on a locally installed version of the third party app) but not when we put them on a Citrix server.

we are thinking possibly a .dll or something is missing or corrupt on the citrix server but not sure which ones to look for.

is there anywhere to expect an error log for these issues?

thanks for any help.
