Guys,
I am planning to come USA and currently working on BW. I got knowledge on ABAP. Do you prefer any kind of trainings to be taken like BPS/SD/MM etc..
Thanks,
Madhu.
Hi,
It will be good if you have BPS along with BW.
Good Luck

Hi Madhu,
Most of them never embedded Cognos with BEX, but some times it is help full
For more details can you look out the below information
This information might help you in knowing advantages and disadvantages.
Why use BW compare to Cognos?
It's part of SAP product.
It's an End to End Tool (like Modeling, Extraction and Reporting).
Conventional DW follows STAR Schema but BW follows Extended Star Schema.
Integration with any open systems
Business content
Tight integration
Easy Extraction , Low Transformations (if R/3 is source)
Cost is Low
From Extraction to reporting ,every thing is delivered as a Package
No separate license cost for front end.
Advantages of Cognos:
Cognos is providing a tool to connect to BW and report on ODS's and Cubes with there own tools which provide very good presentation capabilities.
They also have a one stop shop in a Web format that enables the users to schedule and distribute reports.
Disadvantages of cognos:
Cognos is not able to use Authorizations and Aggregates and Restriction KF concept if we try to create a report directly in COGNOS.
One more point to add is that SAP is closing the gap on this issue's in versions 3.5 and mostly in Bi 7.0.
Regards,
Krishna.
Dear Madhu,
In USA ,Customers look for Consultants ( Techno Functional ) , I would suggest you to learn SEM - Components like BPS , Management Cockpit , BCS etc along with this , learn the Concepts of FI/CO . As you have good knowledge of ABAP , these would be sufficient for you to compete in US for a Lucrative job .
Hope it helps..
Thanks,
Krish
