Assume it looks in a certain location for waht is displated whe login - the local projects .unx etc all still exists on local disk - just the local porject folders no longer swhoing in idt.

Thanks

Check your c: drive to see if there is another bimodeler_14 directory with more recent files.

The location that IDT looks in is specified in:

C:\Program Files (x86)\SAP BusinessObjects\SAP BusinessObjects Enterprise XI 4.0\Information Design Tool\configuration\config.ini

The osgi.ocnfiguration.area and osgi.instance.area specify the location, and by default are:

osgi.configuration.area=@user.home/.businessobjects/bimodeler_14/config
osgi.instance.area=@user.home/.businessobjects/bimodeler_14/workspace

The "@user.home" placeholder is replaced with the "user.home" variable in Java. There are some quirks with this, but by default it is:

c:\users\xxx

This is i have noticed couple of times but i did not find any sap note for this issue.For projects default location is C:/Users/username/.businessobjects/bimodeler_14.

If projects are disappread then still you can open old universes instances from IDT-> File -> Open Projects -> Select Root Directory -> Retrieve Projects from old bimodler_14 directory

Thanks for reply.

What in idt controls where it looks for this.

Before I believe it was defaulting to \\myDocuments\.... rather than C

I haven't changed anything but noticed when looks to create a new local project defaulting to c now.

Possibly some windows change been made which unaware of but if could specify the default area it looks for this bimodeler_14 folder could then control this and it woudl pick up the previously defined local projects.

Do you know if this is possible and where this is set?

bimodeler_14 folder might be missing or corrupted in your users folder. c:\users\<yourname>\.businessobjects\
