Hello Nishkam,

Would you mind running the "hdbbackupcheck" on the backup which you have taken just to make sure the backup is not corrupted . If you could send a detailed error log , it would also be of help .

Regards

Hi,

Instead of going with manual recovery of HANA DB. you can follow system copy ( homogeneous system copy (SAP HANA - specific Backup/Recovery)) method using SWPM. This will take care of installing new SAP application with HANA DB recovery.

Hello Nishkam,

As Satish recommend, please check first SAP Note#1873247 - Checking recoverability with hdbbackupdiag --check and then perform SAP Note#2272121 - How-To: Analyzing Physical Corruptions with the SAP HANA Persistence Diagnosis Tool (hdbpersdiag).

The indexserver traces can possibly show us, which declaration the corrupted page have and if it's recommended to perform a recovery using a good backup. Also, it could be, that you need to check your I/O layer, because possibly there might be some issue with file system or RAID controller.

But all this can be analyzed with some additional tests and trace files. The best will be to open a support incident for this issue and provide a full system info dump to the support team, or let the incident assign to my name.
