cannot open RFCEXEC.sec

Hi All,

In all of our ECC5 and ECC6 systems, the TCP/IP connection in sm59 SERVER_EXEC doesnt work and throws this error:

could not open file rfcexec.sec.

This file and the rfcexec are available in the exe dir for all systems. But the connection test doesnt work.

The connection works for our 4.6C system.

What is the problem with the new releases regarding this? I couldnt find any notes for these new releases.

Any ideas? Thanks in advance.

Cyrus

Ok, here is the solution for anyone who has this problem on ECC5 and ECC6 systems:

The file rfcexec.sec should also be copied to /usr/sap/SID/DVEBMGS<>/work directory. It looks for it in this directory and then starts the program.

Too bad, SAP doesnt say this clearly anywhere.

Ok, sorry...librfcXXX.SAR is the right one according to the note, but how does replacing this help with the rfcexec.sec error?

No, that is not it, it had other library files.

Hi guys,

Thanks for the replies. There are no entries in sm21 regarding this problem.

And Prince, the notes you gave me are not very recent and this problem is only doe ECC5 and ECC6 systems.

Also, I am not sure what new version to get? RFCSDK kit which I dont know how is related to this OR rfcexec and rfcexec.sec files which are in the Kernel directory. Also, i didnt find any new rfcexec and rfcexec.sec kernel patches.

Please advise.

Thanks
