export and import name space name space change

Hello,

name space is not sync with Dev and Prd, but the SWCV is Sync, what i did is i have exported the file from Prod and trying to import in to XI-Dev, make changes in Data types in dev make sync with Prod, again export from dev and import to Prd. but my question is do i need to create name space in Dev for this(i have exported the name space level in Prd) or automatically when i import Prod file it is going to create new name space in Dev under the same SWCV, please help.

Hi,

whenever you import, if there is no intial versioon, then it will create , if you have intial version, then it will update delta changes.

i didn't understand it Krishna, in my case i have one scenario in Dev and importing another scenario from Prod(only name space) to Dev under the same component version(2 diff name spaces), is it automatically going to create this new name space as a second name space or is it going to overwrite the present scenario. do i need to create same name space in Dev and then import or i can just import that.

Hi,

it will automatically create newly imported namespace under the same SWCV, provided both SWCV are same in DEV and Prd.

It will not overwrite until, the older version of same namespace exists in the Dev box.

No need of creating any namespaces .

can i create a WSDL file in Dev according to Prod name spaces. because 3rd party takes atleast 3 days to develop their XML file. all these days i can't move my development to XI-PRD. i mean after creating the WSDL file in Dev manually changing the wsdl namespace and host according to PROD., will it work with Prod.

you need to create the namespace in DEV manually first and then import it.

It should get created automatically. But the SWCV should be there.

But why are you doing development in the PrROD box. YOu should always make changes in the DEV environment and then transport them to production.

The previous person who worked here worked in Prod, both r not in sync, so I'm exporting from Prod and importing in Dev and making changes to scenario after that moving to Prod. still I'm confused do i need to create name space, because software component is there any way. one more thing can i define WSDL file in Dev changing name space and chaneel manually according to prod. i need to give this file to 3rd party.
