execution of Registry Clean Tool does not work as expected

Hi all,

today I downloaded the Registry Clean Tool from SDN to my system Windows XP professional with SP2.

The RAR-archive contained 3 files

  • SAPSTARTSV

  • ReadMe

  • LIBRFC32.DLL

The Instruction in the ReadMe-files is:

vvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvv

This archive contains

ReadMe.txt -> This information file

sapstartsrv.exe -> Removes all SAP System entries in the

Windows registry (For ABAP Systems Version 700)

librfc32.dll -> Dynamic link library used by sapstartsrv.exe

Usage of sapstartsrv.exe:

Prerequisites:

- Make sure that the path to sapstartsrv.exe contains no blank character (' ')

Process flow:

- Start the application (sapstartsrv.exe)

- Select the radiobutton "Uninstall Service + Unregister COM Interface"

- Enter SID (for SAP NetWeaver Trial Version enter "NSP")

- Enter Nr (for SAP NetWeaver Trial Version enter "00")

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

When I run the program sapstartsrv.exe by double click nothing happens but

a dialog comes up that tells me to run

Usage:

Run as NT service:

SAPStartServ pf=

followed by a lot of execution parameters.

How do I have to execute the program in the correct way?

Very kind regards

Frank

copy the registry clean to any path on your machine / unpack it

open a "cmd" dos box

go to the path where you put registry clean

start the registry clean by typing its filename and the option "-u" for uninstallation

a gui will appear. fill in the textfields as they are mentioned in the readme.txt

confirm with OK
