Hi all,

just wanted to comment on #2 (2) Functionality and configuration wise there is no difference between Hybris Marketing On-Premise and On-Cloud ?) and "As far as I can remember, there are many difference between them".

I'd say we have to differentiate between configuration and functionality.

Regarding the latter - functionality - I'd say the capabilities of both solutions are almost equal. We have some limitations in extensibility of the cloud solution in the area of predictive/ scores and product recommendation but are in the process of getting rid of the with the upcoming 1705 and 1708 Cloud releases.

Regarding the first- configuration - yes, the experience from a implementation perspective still differs as in the onPrem world you have to take care of all the system installation and post installation stuff and further down the path would work with the SAPGUI in the backend's Implementation Guide to configure the system. Whereas in contrast in the Cloud solution the system is already up and running once you get it delivered and configuration is easy via nice Fiori Apps.

Best,

Matthias

Hello Kamal,

1. Yes Hybris Marketing is available both OnPremise and Cloud. For Cloud version earlier name was S/4 HANA Marketing Cloud but later renamed to Hybris Marketing Cloud

2. In Hybris Marketing the configuration is done through SPRO and in Cloud through "Configuration App". The configuration App provides self guided steps to complete the configuration. The functonality wise SAP cloud first strategy for the obvious reason of quaterly upgrade but later the functionality is also available in on premise through new version. So at the end of all functionalities are available in On Premise and Cloud.

Thanks,

Krish

Hello Krish,

Thank you for this clear reply, I am also struggling with the same question.

However about point 2: do you know if all configuration capabilities of hybris marketing onpremise are already available in the cloud version? For example I know that a few versions ago, you could not yet integrate a DAM system with the cloud version; or use geo-segmentation, buying propensity, and quite some other things that were not possible. Or to define specific interaction types as a trigger for trigger-based campaigns you needed to contact the Service Center to make this setting for you in the backend; ... and some other limitations. I know that with each upgrade, more and more of the onprem-functionalities become available (and indeed even a shift is occuring that certain functionalities are earlier available in cloud than in onprem), but I really wonder if the cloud version still has its limitations and which ones then.

Thanks a lot!

Hello Joyca,

I have not self did not seen cloud configuration for months but the basic functionalities like geo-segmentation and buying propensity (which is predictive model amulgamated into HANA Information view) should be available, please see the link: Hybris Marketing Cloud 1702

Related to limitation, of course cloud version has limitation on On-Premise release. As for example, when customer needs complete new HANA Information View for Segmentation, or lot of control on Interaction contact creation, I do not think it is possible in Cloud.

Thanks,

Krish

Hi Kamal,

You can refer to EKT documents on https://partneredge.sap.com for details on between SAP Hybris Marketing On Premise and SAP Marketing Cloud.

As far as I can remember, there are many difference between them. It's a bit hard to summarize them here but they're clearly pointed out in EKT documents for 1702.

I hope this helps
