Grey MTEs after Kernel Upgrade

Hello,

we have upgraded our Kernel to 7.49 64BIT UC SP115 SLES11 on some SAP-Systems.After this, some MTEs in SOLUTIONMANGER(7.1) RZ20 rating are grey.

Following steps were checked:

SAP_COLLECTOR_FOR_PERFMONITOR

SAP_CCMS_MONI_BATCH_DP Jobs run hourly without problems.

SAPHOSTAGENT on OS-side were updated to newest SP

SAP-Notes:

1503112

819961

Has anyone experience with scuh Kind of problems?

Kind regards,

Mathias

    Hello Mathias,

could you please check also the setting for the parameter:

    rdisp/autoabaptime

It should be set to "300" and the upgrade procedure sets it to "0" and with this setting the Autoabap dispatcher is deactivated.

    Regards, Alwina

    Hello Alwina,

    the Parameter:

    rdisp/autoabaptime

is set by Default : 300

Should this Parameter set in the instance-profile or is the Default-Setting ok?

    Kind regards,

    Mathias

    Hello Mathias,

the default setting for rdisp/autoabaptime is OK. If the both dispatchers are running (Autoabap and the job SAP_CCMS_MONI_BATCH_DP), please try to delete and to re-create the DB monitor structure as described in the SAP note:

819961 - Adding and deleting tablespaces in the RZ20 display

If it does not help, please contact BC-DB-ORA-CCM component at SAP.

After an upgrade we recommend to cleanup the CCMS shared memory as described in the SAP note

1503112 - Obsolete MTE nodes in CCMS monitoring segment (Error-253)

so that the system does not load old monitor structures created by previous kernel release from the CCMS shared memory backup files.

The tablesspaces monitor structure is updated by the method

CCMS_ORA_space_tsp_all_ct. Please check the selfmonitoring structure in "RZ20 -->

SAP CCMS Technical Expert Monitors -->

CCMS Selfmonitoring" for any alerts for this method if it has terminated.

You can also try to start data collectors in the affected structure manually to see, if the MTEs will be updated. For this please activate maintenance function in RZ20 in "Extras --> Activate maintenance function", select an MTE and execute "Edit --> Nodes(MTE) --> Start methods --> Start data collection method".

Please check also the view "Views -> Status data collector" if the data collector is reported with the status "Fatal error".

    Regards, Alwina
