Hi MM gurus

Please find the below scenario and suggest me the solution

Client want to receipt expired stock so stock can be moved to lab for analysis as part of Quality procedures to see if stock is suitable for re-use. If stock life can be extended due to lab check then savings not having to write off obsolete stock.

Manually extending shelf life to allow GR but this risks out of date stock being picked for customer if orders are received during this period.

About which receipt are you talking? If you get goods that do not meet your expectations then those goods are usually returned, you are very gracious if you inspect the goods at your labor costs for your vendor.

And what do you actually have to write off if you have not yet received those goods, can you please clarify.

Usually you have your inspection type settings assigned to your material master, which means that you receive the goods and they automatically go into quality inspection and the lab decides whether to move from Quality stock into unrestricted or blocked stock.

Unrestricted stock can be used, blocked stock has to be returned.

However, if you stock does already violate the shelf life expiration date settings then you cannot even receive it.
