Hello Everyone,

I'm using DS Map component and recently learned that Default BaseMap from MapQuest has been discontinued. Therefore I did some research on scn and thanks to the community i found a replacement link that is active at the moment. See below link

Active BaseMap fromESRI

http://server.arcgisonline.com/ArcGIS/rest/services/World_Topo_Map/MapServer/tile/{LOD}/{Y}/{X}.png

Q?

Is there a promising link that will remain in position? or we should buy license ? or plot one using custom Jason map. Since we plan on using maps heavily.

Your suggestions are always appreciated.

Thanks

Hi Mohd,

If you upgrade to Lumira Designer 2.0 when it is released, the Geo Map component will include an ESRI basemap as standard.

that would be great. 🙂

But even MapQuest was standard map component that is not active now. I hope it may not occur again with 2.0?

thanks for your response Mustafa.

Hi Mohd,

For clarification, regarding "MapQuest was standard map component that is not active now", actually MapQuest was not a "standard map component". It is a third-party basemap provider which used to be the Geo Map default because it was free at the time but the licensing terms have since changed, resulting in the issue you have encountered. This is not in SAP's control.

As for the ESRI basemap in Lumira 2.0, because SAP has formally partnered with ESRI on this, the license for the basemap is included in Lumira 2.0 as far as I am aware, so you should not face the same issue as MapQuest in future.

Mustafa.

You are right, licensing is always a factor to consider. I agree as you explained engagement with L-2.0 looks very promising.
