Double entries in master data with time intervals

Hi All,

I am loading master data for Profit Center ( 0PROFIT_CTR ) from R/3 into BW.

For each entry of profit center in R/3 , I am getting two entries into BW.

First entry is always coming with time interval valid from as 01.01.1000 and valid to as 31.03.2006.

Second entry is the exact record which we have in R/3.

I have no clue as why are we getting two records for each record in R/3 .

Can someone help me , where might be the problem?

Regards,

Jeevan

That is not a problem, BW works there for time dependency, checks time dependency from 01.01.1000.

Hi Riccardo,

Thanks for the quick answer.

Why i said it was a problem is because, When I am loading Profit center data to SEM BCS , I am only getting profit centers with dates starting 01.01.1000 not the actual profit centers which were there in R/3 .

May be I need to do somethingelse in BCS to get the actual profit centers.

Hi kumar,

for every Time Dependent Master Data you will have this behaviour.

Also for Cost Center you must have this situation.

Time Dependent attributes are managed in Q table, while normal attributes are managed in P table of Master Data.

You will have a new record for every new change in validity period of your Master Data.

In query, if you want to manage Time Dependent attributes, you need to introduce Key Date in Properties of the query.

Ciao.

Riccardo.
