EPPM 100 - Bussiness Partner - Employee Role S/4 1610

Hey all,

so i installed EPPM 100 - SAP Portfolio and Project Management 1.0 on our Sandbox S4 1610 System but currently i'm struggling to create a business partner with the role "Employee" which apparently is required if you want to assign this BP as a resource in your project.

(Launchpad -> Project Management -> Projects -> <pick project> -> Resources Tab -> Staffing Overwiew -> <Pick Role> -> use menu and pick "Assign candiate or Staff".

For now we just want to assign people as resources and do some basic Project management stuff. No need for connections to FI or anywhere else.

BPs seem to have changed a bit (CVI & General Ledger) so maybe i'm missing something here?

The settings in T77S0 are done, but that report doesn't do anything. Doesn't even give me feedback.

any hints would be appreciated.

Hello Christian,

The maintenance of business partners has been changed in SAP S/4HANA. As stated in SAP Note Nr. 2322771, business partners cannot be created with role BUP003 Employee in transaction BP in an S/4HANA system. It is only possible to add/delete/edit these roles to a BP via integration with the source HR system.

You can refer to the documentation for the following customizing activity in your HCM system for information how to synchronize business partners from the HCM system:
Personnel Management -> SAP S/4HANA for Human Resources -> Synchronization of Business Partner for SAP HCM Employee Role.

Hello Franceso,

I already suspected we have to use personal management for this and cannot just assign SAP-users of the system. Fine.

I did the settings.. and also applied a bunch of notes ( 2393462 and notes referenced to it ) as the sync didn't do anything still.

The proper approach to add people in ppm and make em show up as resources is highlevel decribed in note: 2379542

Even tho we had to do some HR customizing here and there.

However the report still doesn't do anything. We are using /SHCM/RH_SYNC_BUPA_EMPL_SINGLE at the moment which adds the mapping bp <-> personal management..

I fear that people following the "SAP Portfolio and Project Management" tag may not be those who can best help you with this business partner synchronization issue.
