Error in SAPinst.exe

Hi,

here i am installing ERP2004 ON WIN2003 server with SP1, when i am clicking on sapinst.exe i got below error,

selfextractor error

iaextract.c:885:child has signaled an exec error.Keeping directory C:/DOCUME_1/ADMINI1/LOCALS~1/TEMP/sapinst_exe.1924.-793065528

I'm using J2sdk 1.4.2_09.

what is this one, why this one occures, how can I deal with this problem, pls reply immediately. this is urgent.

do you have your JAVA_HOME in system variable and %java_home%\bin in path?

j2sdk 1.4.2_11 :

Last is 1.4.2_13 :

I know you are trying to install ERP, but I used 1.4.2_09 for most of my portals installations without problem.

Hello Wensi Gu,

reasons for this error can be very diverse and require a lot of further information such as tracefiles. I highly recommend that you open an OSS message for this issue.

As for the JDK, it is very unprobable that this is somehow related with this error, however, it is highly recommended to use JDK 1.4.2_11.
