SAP NetWeaver Application Server Java EE5 - no WebDynpro projects in NWDS?

After installation of Java EE5 (Java Application Server EE 5.0 plus Developer studio) I cannot create WebDynpro projects in the new Developer studio. This type of projects seems to be missing - or is it under a new name now?

You downloaded the EE 5.0 version. It does not include web dynpro. Check <a href="https://www.sdn.sap.comhttp://www.sdn.sap.comhttp://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/downloaditem?rid=/library/uuid/cfc19866-0401-0010-35b2-dc8158247fb6">the download page</a> for an overview on what is included and what not.

Thank you for your quick answer.

So what is the best software version to install on a local laptop for getting familiar with Java-WebDynpro? Shall I remove the EE5 installation?

You should install the SAP NetWeaver 2004s Java Trial Version. This includes everything you need to get on the way with web dynpro. You can download it on the same page (4th column).

Yes, it is the best thing to uninstall the other version first before installing the java trail version.
