Multilevel categorization in service request - how to manage unwanted levels

Hello,

We are using multilevel categorization schema in Service Request for more than one year.

Some levels are not relevant anymore and we would like to update the categorization schema so that the end users could not chose these levels when creating a service request.

We tried to used the Effective Valid-To Date of the Extended Attributes block to manage the non relevant levels but it did not work.

SAP support informed us that this block was developped for Case management and works only with Case management.

We would like to avoid deleting the levels from the schema as we would not be able to perform search for Service Request based on the Level ID anymore and also we will have issue with BW reporting.

Is there another way to make the unwanted levels not available for selection?
