Deactivate Open Item Management in ECC 6.0 - Revisited

Referring to a post now archived from 2012 and relating to OSS Note 175960.

My situation:

  • Classic G/L
  • Many, many accounts set as open item managed that are in fact not
  • Need to a) archive, and b) prepare to migrate to new general ledger

Earlier post mentions using program ZFSEPA03 to deactivate and mentions some functionality in the program. I need to clarify my understanding of this program. We have downloaded the contents of Note 175960 and can execute the program

What I see it IS doing:

  • Remove the XOPVW indicator in the BSIS table
  • Remove the XOPVW indicator in the BSEG table

What is unclear to me is the following:

  • How to do I remove the values from BSIS, now that they are no longer open? The program does not appear to do this. (Archive?)
  • Why can I still see the open items via FBL3N for the account I just processed?

Any input would be greatly appreciated
