Hello Experts,

I want to check the Table index used in SQL statement using explain where i can check that in my system before SAP 702 release. But after SAP_ABA 702 release, SP-15 in our system i can't.

I can't able to see the old screen of T-Code 'ST05' for "Explain" functionality where it will shown index used.

Some different screen with tree is showing instead old one where i cant find used Index in SQL statement.

Please let me know any note to implement or how to check used Index for a Table using Explain function in SQL Trace list.

Please find the attached old and new explain screen shots.

Thanks in advance,

Sai karthik

For your SP of 7.02 I don't know, but in recent releases (7.31/7.40), you have the choice between the old and the new format of Explain (If I'm not wrong, the old format is the default one). You should look for SAP notes which maybe correct this or add a button to switch between old/new displays.

We have 7.01 and 7.31 systems. When I do ST05 -> display trace -> Explain the screen looks the same in both systems. It seems that your "after" screenshot actually shows something completely different since it reads "Database performance". I'd guess you just arrived there doing different steps or some of the settings are different.

7.01 (I used VA05 transaction as an example):

Hi Jelena,

I have navigated through the SQL Trace->Explain only.Attached screenshot for the same.

Could you please let me know where to check the settings as suggested by you in the reply.
