How to add _ at the start of element in data type

Dear Experts,

As per my requirement, My structure field contains the special character _ at the start of the element for example( _salestypecode). When i tried create the same element , not able to create getting error. Please provide your valuable inputs.

AFAIK there is no way you can add an specila character / Numeric value in any field via data type , i would suggest you to create you data type without "_" and then export the XSD and than manullay add "_" and import bask it as external definition and use it.

Just curios are u dealing this with Salesfore as usually SF fileds will be having "_" in every field? if yes then you can get XSD directly from the SF team.
