How to read data from B1LicenseFile.txt file which locate in server?

I'm new to SAP B1, can somebody tell me how to read data from B1LicenseFile.txt file which locate in server?

Hi Hock,

You just have to register your license file in your license server which is installed on your server.

You don't need to install the license server on your computer. In the sbo install, specify your server as license server.

My purpose is not install the license server.

My actual purpose is want to change or update some data in the license file. So is it possible to do it? If i know how to read from the B1LicenseFile.txt then this can be done.

Hi Hock,

You can update your license file as well. If you have a new license file, it contains all your licenses. So you just have to load it in your license server.

If what you're trying to do is change manually the data of the license file, you can't do that. You'll have to download a new license file from the smb portal, changing your system details. (BTW: Being more specific + providing some deatils about the context is always much appreciated by the community here - though it should be short too )

I suppose you don't just want to play with the licenses?

Sori for not giving detail info about my problem.

Actually my company wan to limit the user for our add-ons. So my manager say if we could updata or change the data in the B1License.txt then we can limit the number of add-ons user.

Or you have any other idea in limit the number of add-ons user?

Yes, register your Add-On to use the B1 licensing mechanism (the easiest way is currently to open a Support message on SBO-BC-LIKEY) - and have the customer download the specific number of users he wants + wants to pay for...
