KPI modeler on hana - setup variable measure points

We are using the KPI modeler on HANA views (calculation / analytical views) with classical ERP based on student application data. Here we are counting number of lines for example every line has a faculty, program of study, academic year, student gender etc.

At the moment we are really struggling on how to setup the measure point when you just want to count numbers especially with multiple measure points that need to be variable.

For example: We want to see how many applications there are for each faculty for each year. The it_sales, T_BE are our faculties at the moment.

What we have at the moment is in our hana live view just a row count. So in the end we just have the following table:

At the moment if we want to report over the faculty and academic year we can only put it on the horizontal (or vertical axes depending on the type of chart). what we really want to have is set the academic year or faculty as a index (where it states Row Count now).

We have been looking in creating multiple calculation columns for example one for 2011 one for 2012 and punt a 1 in the column depending on the admissions data.

For my point of view that is not really an option because every single year you need to adjust your views and change all the KPI charts to add additional measure points.

I hope I'm clear on what I want to do, is there any way to do that in a simple way? This because we really want to have it for multiple values so also gender or nationality could be one on the fields as well.

Thanks a lot for helping me out.
