QM Usage Decision confirmation

Hello everyone,

I would like to ask your help since I've been practically search the web for my issue but haven't found any solution. I hope you can enlighten me.

As per standard SAP QM, stock postings will be made upon clicking of save button on usage decision and indication of quantity on the inventory tab. What the client wants is a 2-step UD. Sort of a confirmation of UD and stock posting.

The scenario is upon Usage Decision, User#1 would indicate the quantities for unrestricted, block and/or scrap. But upon saving, this would put the items on "PARK". User#2, which is the team leader will have to "CONFIRM" the usage decision so actual stock postings can push-through.

What they want is for the team leaders to NOT input the quantities but just CONFIRM the the UD and quantities are ok to be posted.

Hoping for a solution on this. Thank you.

I would say no. Doing as you describe is not possible. I do not believe there is anyway for user 1 to enter quantities and have them parked or held in those fields upon saving and await a second user to confirm them in standard SAP. But I have two suggestions. One of which can be done with several "flavors"

    1) What I might suggest is that you put in two UD codes. One UD might be APP which is enterred by user one along with the quantities. User two would go in and apply a UD of REV for Reviewed. If the review found something incorrect, the corrections would have to be manually done.

One variation of this could be that you create all batches as restricted stock. (at least for those things you make like FIN's or SEM's). Then have the APP UD code post the stock as restricted status. Have the REV UD code post to unrestricted status. Then add in batch search straegies to only allow selction of unrestricted batches. (Add characteristic LOBM_ZUSTD to batch classes).

Instead of creating batches initially as restricted, you could also use the APP code to post to restricted batch status. Then use the REV UD code to change the status to unrestricted.

Another variation is to add characteristic LOBM_UDCODE to batches and use batch search strategies to only allow use of batches with the REV UD code.

    2) One other possibilty, (but requires standard development), is to create a series of quantitative characteristics that mimic your allowed stock categories. I'd put these into a separate operation with a workcenter on them that limits who can record against that operation. I.e. only your approvers. Have user one put the quantities into these three or four characteristics, and valuate and approve them. Then you can even implement the operation confirmation functionality and have them confirm that the operation is complete.

Then when the UD is done by user two, use the the user exit QEVA0001 Enhancement: Quantity posting for usage decision to first verify that the quantities operation has been confirmed. Next, have it read those characteristics for the quantities to post and enter them into the stock posting screen. This is all pretty much standard SAP and the development would be using a standard SAP user exit.

    Craig
