Hi,
my objective is to reduce the number of visible properties when viewing a KM folder populated from BW Information Broadcasting. For example, "rating" and "created by" are irrelevant in this context - however commands such as "online link" are required, so a simple list is not a viable replacement.
I've taken an advanced copy of the layout set Broadcasting_Prog, then replaced resource renderer Broadcasting_Resource_Renderer_Prog with a modified version, with various visible properties removed.
Nothing has changed when the folder is displayed within the new layout profile associated with the new layout set! All previously visible properties remain visible.
I have read other posts regarding the fact that the collection renderer over-rides the resource renderer under certain circumstances - however, the relevant collection renderer Broadcasting_Column_Renderer has no input field for visible properties.
Any clues please?
Thanks
David
PS please don't offer a java coding solution - this must be implemented via KM config, or not at all.
I found the answer - the resource renderer Broadcasting_Resource_Renderer_Prog is configured with the additional resource renderer 'BroadcastingResourceRenderer.
This has hard coded visible properties (!!!) so although visible properties are offered for selection, they have absolutely no effect.
When I removed this setting in my copy of Broadcasting_Resource_Renderer_Prog it worked as configured.
Naughty and undocumented, Mr SAP.
Thanks Fallon & Robert, your replies were both very helpful in moving the problem along, and I'm very pleased with myself, so you have 6 points each.

Hi Dave,
yes, you need to make this change of the Broadcasting_Prog layout set in the ressource renderer and not in the collection renderer.
In addition to Fallons suggestion, you can also enable the <a href="http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/f4/2c6b2089cc784bb384a7ea058de50d/content.htm">Debugging Settings</a> for your user and see what Layout Set is actually in use.
Hope with that you can find the problem.
Regards,
Robert

Hello Dave,
I assume you're setting this layout at the KM folder level (within the Presentation settings), instead of at the iView level? When you set the new layout set as the layout profile for the folder, verify the <b>rndVisibleProperties</b> parameter under the Additional Parameters tab in the KM folder's Layout settings. (It's on the last page of parameters.) Make sure that the properties listed there match what you want displayed.
Hope this helps a bit.
Cheers,
Fallon
