Hello,
I have some questions about permissions for portal content objects.
1. When I take a look on the permissions of a role a created I see some roles that have permission on the role which I can't delete, p.e. the user_admin_role... Is there a possibility to disbar the permissions of the user_admin_role permissions?
2. In my understanding there are two ways to give the user a personalized access to iViews. Either I put them on a page where the user has access to or I set End User permission to the iView in the PCD, and the user can access the iView via the personalization function. I'm I right? Is there a best practice or any advantages or disadvantages of one of those methods.
Kind regards,
Dominik
Hi Dominik,
1: The permissions that you cannot change are part of the portal infrastructure: So the user_admin by definition can assign users to roles -- this is the definition of the user admin. The same goes for super admin permission. In order to give someone the user admin permission but not for a specific iView, use the delegated admin feature, as described in http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/f6/26056705fd11d7b84200047582c9f7/frameset.htm
2: Generally, you assign content to a role, and then assign the role to a user. This assignment gives the user permission to the role. The permissions for all content in the role is inherited from the role.
Hope this helps.
Daniel
