Could you pls put some light on What PI is?

PI is process Integration.

When Netweaver 2004s was launched, SAP wanted all the components of netweaver to move into a common versioning and so they renamed XI as Process Integration ( PI) and like all componenets of 2004s PI also runs on WAS 7.0

The latest SP for netweaver 2004s has been Sp 10 and this corresponds to SP 19 on netweaver 2004,

For every relase of NW2004s PI 's SP, same features are being supported on XI 3.0. So, from the perspective of XI , PI and XI are the same.

But as time goes on, I guess XI will be phased out, and all compoenets will move to PI 7.0
