How do material get relation with customer material?

The master data of material is not set up with customer material.

When the order is created, the material material number will be added in the material.

Am I right?

I am confused. Sometimes I can get customer material in material table MARA. But sometimes not.

Please help.

No. Materials have to be created through transaction MM01 only and will not be created through a Order. The reason you are seeing some customer materials in MARA is because the material is already created in SAP through transaction MM01.

You can view the marterials through transaction MM03.

Right, SAP material is created by MM01. But how do material get custmer material number. When we post IDOC, we get custmer material poplate to the order, then the order get the item with material number and customer material number. They are in table VBAP.But how do they get matching? Or this is set up already in the schedule agreement?

I'm not sure but please have a look at Basic data 1 and Basic data 2 views of the material if you can find the customer material there.

So what is the transaction of creating the customer material number?

Its MM01 only. But to see the basic data views you can also use transactions MM02 or MM03.
