Hello,
Is there a way to find the job log of an finished job? DSPLOG shows some finished jobs like 020366/QIJS/RMVHSTJS ended on 14/12/06 at 00:01:09 (this is just an example).
How can I see the job log for this finished jobs. dspjoblog does not work.
Best Regards
Sezai
Thanks,
Actualy Mike's answer was what I need.
Volker,

Hello,
Where is the "display spooled log" option?
is there an other command for this?
Display Job Log (DSPJOBLOG)
Type choices, press Enter.
Job name . . . . . . . . . . . . * Name, *
User . . . . . . . . . . . . . Name
Number . . . . . . . . . . . . 000000-999999
Output . . . . . . . . . . . . . * *, *PRINT, *APIDFN, *OUTFILE
Hi again Sezai,
There is no command to specifically display a spooled log file. You could use the more general command Display Spooled File (DSPSPLF). The name of the spooled file for a joblog is QPJOBLOG. So, for the example you gave above, the command would be...
DSPSPLF FILE(QPJOBLOG) JOB(020366/QIJS/RMVHSTJS)
If you leave the default value for the JOB parameter (*), it looks for the spooled file in the spool of the current job (the job in which your interactive login is running).
Alternatively, you can work with all spooled files for a particular user, and specify the job name for the USERDATA element of the selection criteria:
WRKSPLF SELECT(QIJS *ALL *ALL RMVHSTJS)
This would give you all spooled files produced by jobs named RMVHSTJS that ran under user profile QIJS. I predict that most of the results results will be spooled files named QPJOBLOG. Press F11 once (View 2) to display the datestamp for each spooled file.
Does this answer your question Sezai?
Best regards,
Mike
Hi sez,
Do a DSPJOB JOB(020366/QIJS/RMVHSTJS) (using your example), then select option 4 ("Display spooled files"). The job log is stored as a spool file after the job ends, so one of the entries in the resulting list should contain the log you're looking for.
Best regards,
Mike Frost

Hi Mike,
when I understood this one correct, Sezai is using DSPJOBLOG already based on the information of DSPLOG, BUT:
This ONLY works if there IS a jobloag, but a lot of jobs do NOT produce a joblog ...
=> if this is really critical for you to find the joblogs, you have to change the corresponding job descriptions, that they produce a joblog, even when finishing properly ...
