Hi people

Is there a way of integrating an adobe interactive form into a SAPUI5 application and fill in required details without having to download it to my local workstation, fill in required details, save and then upload it again into my application

Kind regards

Hi Timothy,

Yes you can use the SAP Adobe Interactive Forms with Web Dynpro ABAP ... but I would ask WHY???!

A SAPUI5 app is generally viewed as a more effective answer here, e.g. using a SimpleForm control

Also using the Adobe Interactive solution has licensing implications - either on premise or through SAP Cloud Platforms services.

(Adobe Print forms do not have the same requirement)

So it's not a common combination we see used at sites these days now that we have better answers with SAPUI5.

You might want to review your use case and see if it really needs to be an Adobe form.

Rgds,

Jocelyn

Hi Jocelyn

Thanks for your response

Currently the client is using an adobe form for some legal process. The client want the information filled to be stored as a pdf form in the SAP system. Since it has legal implications they don't want the text (and there is lots of text) on the form to be altered. For this reason an adobe form seems a better option than a normal SAPUI5 form ( I might be wrong) but they want the process to be SAPUI5 driven hence I asked if its possible to integrate an interactive adobe form into a SAPUI5 app

Kind regards

Hi Timothy, Ok that sort of makes sense... however you can include read only text in SAPUI5 apps. I'm not convinced that it's necessary to input the text via an Adobe form just because you want to output an Adobe form. Those are 2 separate stages in that process.

However if you want to continue down this path I would suggest exploring SAP Cloud Platform, Forms by Adobe service.

Rgds,

Jocelyn

Here is a thought:

1. Develop the form in SAP UI5.

2. Develop a smart form resembling the read only version of the Interactive Form

3. Have a Print Button on UI5 app and on click call a Smart Form

Not exactly what you are looking for, but just a thought.

Cheers,

Pramod
