Hi Tammy,
I am currently facing performance issue in Design Studio during development of application.
1.Taking long time to load application and prompt dialog.
2.Once answered prompt values it's again taking long time to show OK button.
I am trying to create dashboard on unx universe. Please find below details for reference.
1.Version: DS 1.6 SP3
2.Rows: 434
3.Columns:5
4.Total Execution time in DB: 530 ms.
-Xmx3g
-Xms512m
-XX:PermSize=128m
-XX:MaxPermSize=1g
–XX:+UseParallelGC
Hi - Can you try to plug-in the same universe connection to WEBI or Analysis for OLAP and see if you encounter the same performance issue ?
It will clear out if the you need to fine-tune on DS-server sizing.
I recommend checking on browser version IE10 or higher and note there is no add-on on the browser that is consuming browser rendering speed since DS is generate HTML output.
Sometimes you will get message at the bottom in yellow - speed up browser removing un-necessary add-on like 'PDF editor and so on.

First, 4.1 SP5 is rather old, I suggest getting on a more recent patch level such as 4.2 with SP4.
And universes as a data source seem to have been more of an afterthought when it comes to DesignStudio, therefore I believe being on a recent patch level is even more important.
Another question, how long does the query take in a "native" universe Frontend tool such as Webi?

Hi Tammy,
Well noted.
My version is BI 4.1SP5 P5. The sizing of server is also correctly setup.
I'm facing issue during designing of application. I have only one data source, and even if I click on edit initial view of data source, then also it's takes time. It takes more time to load in my web browser to load the prompt dialog box.
I would like to know is there any configuration which we need to make for DS tuning.
Regards,
Mantu Sahu

Hi Mantu - I will keep searching, but I did find this - BI pattern book, performance testing - it may help to better pinpoint the performance issue: https://assets.cdn.sap.com/sapcom/docs/2017/03/8a059d5e-b17c-0010-82c7-eda71af511fa.pdf
Hi - since this is a community, I recommend not asking your questions to a particular person
Which version of BI4x are you using? Is your BI Platform sized correctly? https://wiki.scn.sap.com/wiki/display/BOBJ/Design+Studio+BI+Platform+Support
