Characteristic as key figure in ADSO and Composite Provider

Hi All,

I would like to doe a planning including some comments in S/4HANA with embedded BW.

We want to use only the new objects, so use ADSO for the comments, then a composite provider with aggregation levels on top.

I managed to create the ADSO and mark the char as key figure:

but in my composite provider no key figure is showing up

what am I missing here? how do I get the key figure to add it to my provider?

Thanks and regards

Cornelia

    Hi all,

I am facing the same problem: When adding a Classic Comment DSO (or a Comment-Enabled ADSO) to the Composite Provider, the generated Key Figure for the Comment will not show up. I also tried creating a MultiProvider on the Comment DSO then converting it to a Composite Provider using Report RSO_CONVERT_IPRO_TO_HCPR. It does not work throwing an error that the obsolete Key Figure on the Comment would not exist...

So has anyone a solution on this? Thank you.

    Hi Eric,

my workaround so far is, that I have to create DSO or ADSO with the comment as key figure.

Then put the aggregation level on top of this DSO/ADSO - the aggregation level will include automatically the 1KYF_ZCOMMENT

then I include this aggregation level into a composite provider - the key figure will also be shown there.

Then I can create a query then on top of this composite and enter the comments :-)

    regards

      Hi Eric,

When you have a query on top of composite provider (which is not fully aggregated), i suspect it will allow activate your query in planning tab "start query in input mode" and your columns will not have planning tab..pls correct me if im wrong

    Hi Cornelia,

you need BW7.50, SP04 or higher and you should also check note 2344152. For usage of advanced DSOs in planning (cube-like and direct-update) you should also check collective note 2429714 especially when characteristics based on HANA views are used. I have also observed meta data caching effects in the BW Modeling Tools. You may reactivate the respective InfoProviders to invalidate the cache. In the 'Semantic Content' view you can also delete the cached data.

    Gregor

    Hi cornelia,

like you i would like to add comment in dso, then this DSO wiil be connected to the Multiprovider along with the other cubes (Actual and Planning) and an aggregation level on top of it. Then creating an analysis office workbook and underlying queries with a comment column, comments that can be persisted in the SAP system upon saving then be entered in the workbook and queries.

But the adding comments in DSO didn't work!

Do you have succes on adding comments in DSO?

Thanks in advance for your answers

    • hi Osahon,

yes, after apllying all the OSS notes - see Gregors answer - it worked.

But I tried it only in Web, I am not sure what the limitations could be in Analysis.

      regards
