Hierarchy Leaf exclusion in Query Selection

166 Views

Hi all,

Can anyone tell us whether it is possible to exclude at a Hierarchy Leaf level?

We have found that you can include and exclude at a Hierarchy Node level but having difficulties in excluding certain leaves from different nodes. Is this possible or is it technically not possible? We're not sure whether it is a bug or not.

We are currently using BI 7.0 SP10 Front-end patch is 900.

Example of what we're trying to do:

Node 1.0 – Profit & Loss

-> Node 1.1 – Revenue

-> Node 1.1.1 – Sales in Victoria

-> Leave 1 – Sales of Hardware

-> Leave 2 – Sales of software

-> <b><i>Leave 3 – Sales of material</i></b>

-> Node 1.1.2 – Sales in NSW

-> Leave 1 – Sales of Hardware

-> Leave 2 – Sales of software

-> <b><i>Leave 3 – Sales of material</i></b>

-> Node 1.2 – Expense

-> Node 1.2.1 Expense in Victoria

-> Leave 1 – Sales of Hardware

-> Leave 2 – Sales of software

-> <b><i>Leave 3 – Sales of material</i></b>

-> Node 1.2.2 – Expense in NSW

-> Leave 1 – Sales of Hardware

-> Leave 2 – Sales of software

-> <b><i>Leave 3 – Sales of material</i></b>

We've tried selecting all the Sales of Material accounts from the tree and excluding them in the restriction design but when we run the query in BEx, they still appear in the hierarchy.

Any advice would be great.

Cheers,
