Error "Dep key in invalid for this chart of dep"

Hi,

I activated a assetclase for a particular company code through AM05. Now when i try to create a asset by AS01, in the deprication area it is taking dep key as LINK by default and when I save it tells me "Dep key in invalid for this chart of dep"

I tried change the dep to other but it is still giving me the same error. Can anyone let me know to how to clear out this error

Hi

Depreciation key id defaulted in "Determine Depreciation Areas in Asset Class " ( Tcode OAYZ. If you have defaulted LINK over there , AS01 will take that dep key and would not allow to overwrite the same.

For "Dep,key is invalid for this chart of dep" Please check whether you have defined dpe key in tcode AFAMA.
