External facing portal installation

Hello,

We have a requirement to build external facing portal. Our thought is to install web dispatcher in DMZ and have the portal instance internal network.

Company security standards does not allow a AD domain in DMZ. Can we still install the web dispatcher in DMZ as a local installation and enable it to communicate to the portal which is behind the firewall? Portal and Portal DB would be in the same domain.

Is there any other alternative we can explore. Please advise.

regards

Naveen

Hi,

it all depends on your network and firewall configuration, but in general there is no issue if you WebDispatcher won't be connected to domain (while your SAP system will).

Best regards
