Thanks for your responses. I have awarded you the points as your responses were very helpful.

Christoffer,

You replied that T-code ST03 Number of executions for a query. Can you please tell me which field shows that? I see the following fields in ST03:

InfoCube

Query Name

Cache

No.of Nav.

Total time

% Init.

% OLAP

% DB

% Frontend

% Mst.data

Init. Time

OLAP Time

DB Time

Frontend

MasterData

Can you pls let me know which one will show the number of executions for a query?

Gilad,

I checked the thread u sent, in that I am not sure if I understand Aneesh exactly. He says that “By counting the number of records, it returns calls. If you drill down by query, it will give number of records for a query in the cube which corresponds to the number of runs of the query.” So does that mean that the field Frequency (0TCTSTAUIK) shows number of times a query has been executed? Pls let me know.

Again thanks!!

Megha,

Thanks for assigning points.

See- Number of navigations counts the navigation steps that were applied on the query. So practically, for one run the query can have multiple navigation steps (1 - open the query 2- do a drilldown etc').

As far as i now understand it, the way to find how many times the query was run is to use infoobject 0TCTSESUID. 0TCTNAVUID - Determines the number of navigations.

See the following thread for a thorough explanation by Roberto Negro:

Hi Megha,

You can also define an exception aggregation in BEX query designer. Define a calculated key figure which value equals to your Infoobject and choose properties, there you can set exception aggregation (in you case - count) and exception characteristic.

This white paper contains the entire details:

Hope it helps(if so -please assign some points...)

I have never used this kind of statistics, so I do not know the answer of your question. However, I often use the transaction ST03 to get statistics on runtime for queries. Select Expert mode, 'BW system load' and choose period. Here you get the runtimes specified by init, OLAP, DB, fromtend and masterdata, both as a percentage and in seconds, and both as total times and as average times. Number of executions as well as number of navigation steps is displayed as well, so by comparing the result from this transaction with your statistic query, you should be able to find the answer of your question.
