Extending procurement overview page

Hi,

We are just exploring the possibility of extending the standard procurement overview page provided by SAP.

Scenarios we want to try are,

1) Create a new list card with the existing annotation and data source.

2) Include few more property values in the already existing List card.

3) Convert an analytical card into a different card type fed with the same data.

Is it really feasible to extend the standard procurement OVP app. If yes, what are the options we have.

Appreciate your inputs.

Many thanks in advance.

Regards,

Parthibaraja

    Hi Parthibaraja,

Nowadays we have a restriction in the Web IDE when we try to create an extension project from a Fiori Element app (List Report, Object Page and Overview Page).

Since this application is powered by the ABAP CDS views, you could create an extension from the standard view, but there is a problem with this approach too, since this standard CDS view is not public released yet, SAP can execute changes in the future through any new patches or releases and it could potentially generate an impact in your development.

My advise would be basically to create a new custom application using the Overview Page template and reuse the standard OData service executing the UI changes that you need with local annotations. If you have a requirement to bring more data to the application you can create a secondary OData service to provide the extra fields that you need (it's possible to reuse the standard ABAP CDS views or create your own ABAP logic).

I advise you to analyse the standard app and execute a reverse engineering, here are some technical details about the Procurement OVP:

    1. UI5 project: PRC_OVPS1
    2. OData projects: MM_PRC_OVP
    3. ABAP CDS Views:

    Hope this answer helps you!

    Cheers,

    Felipe

Extensions to an existing OVP app with additional cards can be done starting SAPUI5 version 1.48 onwards, you can find details here: https://help.sap.com/doc/468a97775123488ab3345a0c48cadd8f/7.52.0/en-US/6d260f7708ca4c4a9ff45e846402aebb.html
